RESPONISIBILITIES

  • Responsible for conserving supplies.
  • Properly blast rims to bare metal, removing scale, rust and old paint.
  • Properly apply zinc primer powder coat.
  • Properly apply polyester polyurethane powder top coat.
  • Remove valve stems and lead weights.
  • Use provided safety equipment (hoists, gloves, safety glasses, etc.)
  • Stage rims in proper order.
  • Responsible to make sure rims are numbered, tagged, and identified throughout line production.
  • Responsible to produce highest quality product that meets Company’s Mission Statement.
  • Responsible to identify and mark rims for scrap in order to be returned to customer.
  • Responsible that there is no mix up in customer rims or color of rims.
  • Responsible to ensure required department production paperwork is complete, legible, and accurate.
  • Responsible to properly enter and exit timecard system.
  • Responsible for proper absentee or late communication. 
  • Responsible to check customer order for correct quantity and type of rim when loading racks for burn off oven. Proper rack configuration paperwork must be accurately and legibly written.
  • Perform any other related duty the Floor Supervisor may assign from time to time.
  • Provide proper notification and advance notice of absences.
  • Always follow all safety procedures in the shop and office.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner. 
  • Maintain all work-related documentation neatly, legibly, and accurately
  • As wheels come off production line, will mark each wheel with identification tag (customer, number etc.) responsible to ensure customer wheels are tagged correctly.  At burn at start of production line as removed from line for packaging
  • Scrap wheels are to be counted and the count put on worksheet. These are then palletized and returned to customer with rest of order
  • Unload wheels to pallet
  • Oversee unload lines paperwork and inspect for quality issues.
  • Responsible to fill out all required worksheets and other paperwork completely and correctly as instructed.
  • Assist stacking wheels on skid and shrink wrap skid when necessary
  • Sweep shop and warehouse areas

SPECIFIC DUTIES
 

  • Reviews with Floor Supervisor any customer needs regarding order or changes required to production paperwork. If changes are to be made, all 4 production documents need to be identical.
  • While scheduling and loading racks, compares work sheet of customer wheel count with actual count as burn rack is loaded. This is the crucial step to verify and promote
  • Check off all rim counts on production worksheet and initial when process is completed.
  • Any rim or rim part NOT counted and confirmed must be circled and so stated on production paperwork.
  • Immediately notify Floor Supervisor or Administrative Assistant on any discrepancies on production paperwork.  Initial lower right-hand corner of paperwork when done.
  • Any difference in quantity between our count and customer paperwork, and the Administrative Assistant must be notified immediately. Sign off on paperwork that this has been done.
  • Track customer pallets in shop (as directed by Administrative Assistant per the needs of customer) and reloads those pallets to return to customer.
  •  Turn in production worksheets when customer rims are completed.
  • Keep lines operating at capacity.
  • Quickly informs Floor Supervisor and/or Maintenance Staff of all line maintenance needed to keep line running.
  • MEASURES OF SUCCESS
  • Report to work on time consistently.
  • Make the best use of time during the course of the work-day.
  • Production line is operated at full capacity and starts on time. (start of shift, breaks, lunches.)
  • Required paperwork completed quickly, completely, legibly, and accurately.
  • Solving problems within the department. Suggesting solutions for problems for implementation approval from Floor Supervisor.
  • All interaction with fellow employees and customers handled in a professional manner.
  • Quality of product is to company standards.
  • Operate with minimal work error or injury.
  • Conservation of production line supplies.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
 

  • Extensive knowledge within the particular trade of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the reconditioning of rims, in particular, burning, blasting, zinc powder priming, powder coat paint priming, and production line operation. Knowledge of the operation of all the equipment and systems related to the manufacturing line and necessary for such projects.

  • BODY POSITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee and supervisor are regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
  • BODY MOVEMENTS: The employee and supervisor must have a full range of body movements including the use of his/her hands to finger, handle, and feel objects such as computer equipment. The ability to bend the body, to reach the objects, and to crouch when needed are also required.
  • BODY SENSES: The employee and supervisor must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • STRENGTH: The employees and supervisor must have the ability to lift 50 pounds with regularity.
