Production Lead
Priority Personnel is hiring a Night Bag Room/Extrusion Production Lead for a manufacturing company located in San Marcos, TX.
Pay rate: $23.00-24.00/hour with a .50 shift differential
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri/7:00pm-7:00am
Job Duties:
- Identify and implement continuous improvements for the department’s efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and repair department machinery as needed, including mechanical and electrical issues, and perform equipment repairs as required, following the proper escalation process.
- Assist management with identifying and solving safety concerns.
- Meet all ISO Quality and Food Safety requirements.
- Align with the production supervisor to take ownership of projects to improve productivity and ensure a sense of urgency in their execution.
- Collaborating with QC, knowing the bag measurements, preparing paperwork, conducting strength tests, and checking dimensions as needed.
- Assist the bag operator by setting up runs, changing rolls and Teflon, cleaning rollers and the seal bar, and adjusting bag size as needed.
- Assist with production supervisor in die and barrel cleaning and die reassembly setup as needed.
- Must be flexible to cover for the utility operator and or extrusion operator in case of absence.
Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repetitively or as needed.
- Have a sense of ownership, priority, and urgency combined with the ability to take the initiative and manage multiple tasks
- Knowledge of film, resin, and finished products
- Knowledge of setting extruder running conditions using process cards, schedules, and past run sheets.
- Knowledge bubble size, gauge adjustments and gauge film samples.
- Knowledge of completing all paperwork blend, pallet, roll tickets, heat, and production sheets to ensure coverage in case of absences.
- 3 to 5 years of proven leadership and communication skills, with a strong background in manufacturing, warehousing, and packaging.
- Proficiency in PC (Outlook, Excel, Word).
