General Box Labor
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Perform all basic carpentry duties required by applying appropriate common techniques as
designated by company quality standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
? Works under general supervision.
? Visually examines work for adherence to specifications.
? Layout, fit, and tack workpieces together.
? Performs basic carpentry tasks.
? Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence
and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing materials.
? Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace
patterns of product or parts, or uses templates.
? Trims, cuts, files, grinds, deburrs, buffs, and smoothes surfaces.
? Nail, bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, or bonds component parts to assemble products.
? Installs assemblies in supportive framework according to blueprints.
? Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
? Good written and verbal communication skills, good organizational skills, and attention to
detail.
? Ability to work well in a team environment and to effectively interface with the client and
team members.
? Knowledge of general manufacturing process.
? At least 2-4 years of experience in the general manufacturing field.
? Familiar with standard carpentry practices, and procedures.
EDUCATION:
? High school degree
