Commercial HVAC/R Technician – III Military Affiliation Required
JOB SUMMARY:
This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems within the organization. Additionally, it includes coordinating and conducting plumbing system tests as required by codes, assisting other trades as necessary, and addressing general facility maintenance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate and perform maintenance, installations, and modifications of HVAC equipment in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
• Assist in the operation and general maintenance of painting, plumbing, HVAC, locksmith, and alarm systems. Supervise essential repairs and other duties as needed.
• Troubleshoot, test, and repair mechanical machinery, equipment, systems, and structures as scheduled or required with limited guidance.
• Monitor work conducted by external contractors to ensure compliance with requirements and proper documentation.
• Respond to in-house Work Orders and PM’s on a daily basis and in a timely manner.
• Potentially respond to emergency calls and be on call as per facility requirements.
• Provide on-the-job skills training.
• Support the development of new processes, products, or services.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs, ensuring compliance with TJC, Federal, State, and Local regulations. Keep maintenance logs up to date.
• Perform other assigned duties.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Proficient in HVAC equipment maintenance, installations, and modifications following applicable codes and regulations.
• Ability to contribute to system training manuals and upgrades.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking conversational English.
• Skill in documenting records neatly and accurately.
• Ability to generate requisitions for materials and supplies.
• Capability to assign priority and teams in a timely manner.
• Ability to instruct others based on blueprints and sketches.
• Interpretation of various instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.
• Understanding of documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to handle various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Proficient in calculating figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumes.
• Knowledge of safe handling of tools and equipment.
• Basic Microsoft Office computer skills.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High School Education or GED.
• Two years of maintenance experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Trade School Completion/Certification.
• Five years of healthcare maintenance.
REQUIRED LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION:
• Journeyman License or trade-specific certification.
• Valid Driver’s License.
