Worked as a tool machinist and tool and die maker for at least 2 years
Be able to read blueprints and make working sketches
Be able to surface grinders, shapers, milling machines, drill presses, lathes, etc.
Make setups on pieces of equipment with no supervision
Strong background in math, blueprint reading, and shop theory
Ability to make new die sections to replace broken and worn ones
Be able to disassemble and reassemble a die and check punches and dies for proper working clearance
Must be able to build new dies from blueprints within allotted time
